FinTech AI and ESG Innovation Group

The FinTech AI and ESG Innovation Group at Kazakhstan-British Technical University (KBTU) focuses on integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and sustainable finance principles (ESG) into digital wealth management solutions. The flagship project, “ECO InvestMind AI”, is a mobile application designed to democratize wealth management in Kazakhstan, especially in regions with limited access to traditional financial advisory services.

This innovative platform combines a BERT-based model for real-time financial sentiment analysis with a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) for short-term stock price forecasting. Leveraging ESG metrics and adaptive learning, the system delivers personalized investment advice, encouraging sustainable and responsible investment behaviors.

Key expected outcomes of the project include:

✅ Development of a cross-platform AI-powered application offering financial literacy and personalized investment recommendations;

✅ Integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators to promote responsible investment decisions;

✅ Development of an innovative AI-powered business application that supports enterprises in making informed investment decisions aligned with ESG principles, contributing to responsible corporate finance practices.

The master students and undergraduate student of the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) of KBTU demonstrated their excellence on the international stage by participating in the prestigious International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Technology (ICAIMT 2025), held from May 21 to 22, 2025 in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).

Participants included Nuriman Altybayeva , Oralbek Sapar, and Arslan Toimbekov, who presented their research in the field of AI. Their paper won the Best Paper Award and was accepted for publication in the Journal of Information and Knowledge Management (JIKM), indexed in Scopus (Q2, Q3). The students’ work was supervised by KBTU SITE Professor Akzhalova A.Zh., Director of the Department for SDG Projects of the Academy of Corporate Education.

This remarkable achievement highlights the high level of training at KBTU SITE and the students’ active participation in international scientific initiatives. Their success confirms KBTU’s role in advancing AI-driven financial technologies and sustainable development practices, aligned with the goals of KBTU’s SDG.
