VISIT OF UNDP REPRESENTATIVES TO KBTU

15.10.2024

On October 8, 2024, an important monitoring meeting of the UNDP project was held at KBTU. Representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Kazakhstan highly appreciated the achievements of the project at its current stage.

During the meeting, KBTU Rector M.T. Gabdullin emphasized the significance of the project and expressed support for initiatives aimed at achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The parties discussed prospects for new projects on startup acceleration within the SDG framework, as well as opportunities for cooperation in supporting women and organizing joint events for additional training courses.

Since 2019, KBTU has been cooperating with UNDP under the program for the education of Afghan women, aimed at expanding their economic rights and opportunities. The program is implemented with the support of the European Union and covers Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Since the launch of the project, more than 40 women have successfully completed training programs such as “Finance (TVET)”, “Business Management (TVET)”, “Vocational Education (VET)”, “MBA Finance”, and “Mining (TVET)”.

Today, Afghan female students are receiving high-quality education in the fields of finance and marketing. The SDG Projects Department of the Academy of Corporate Education has organized international courses in collaboration with the German company Janser Expert, providing graduates with opportunities for employment in German companies. Currently, courses on “Green Economy”, “Leadership and Business Communication”, and “Principles of Marketing and Communications” are being actively conducted, with the issuance of international certificates.
