
KBTU PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION POWERTECH EXPO 2024

As part of the bilateral relations between JSC KBTU and the development of the new laboratory in the field of industrial automation and digitalisation, "Industrial Automation Lab," from Schneider Electric, Professor of the School of Information Technology and Engineering, Z.I. Samigulina, and Junior Technical Support Specialist at Schneider Electric Kazakhstan, Damira Koyanbaeva (a Bachelor's student in the field of "Automation and Control"), participated in the International Industrial Forum. New Innovations in Energy and Machine Engineering, Almaty 2024.
The forum comprised four exhibitions: The event comprised four exhibitions: Machine Engineering and Metalworking, PowerTech Expo, Renewable Energy Expo, and EnergySaveExpo.
During the business programme, entrepreneurs, experts, industry representatives and technical education professionals shared experiences with the aim of further developing the sector. The forum was held with the official support of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, the Institute for the Development of Electric Power and Energy Supply, the Association of Power Engineers, the Union of Energy Engineers of Kazakhstan, the Qazaq Green Association of Renewable Energy, and the German Economic Representation in Central Asia.
The KBTU team presented the concept of higher engineering education for Industry 4.0.
The university's laboratory facilities for engineering education were also on the agenda.
The presentation also highlighted the contribution of scientific research conducted by KBTU professors using artificial intelligence to the development of educational programmes at the university in the field of industrial automation.
Damira Koyanbaeva presented a project on the modernisation of a water purification station (supervised by Prof. Z.I. Samigulina) based on the new KBTU laboratory, the "Industrial Automation Lab", with the use of industrial controllers from Schneider Electric's Modicon M340 and Modicon M241 series, operated with EcoStructure Control Expert and EcoStructure Machine Expert software.
The use of modern industrial equipment in education, close ties with industry, and the integration of innovative approaches based on artificial intelligence in education enable the preparation of highly skilled specialists for the development of the "Industry 4.0" concept.
