About the Call for Grant

Students4Sustainability (S4S) is a student-led foundation that motivates students to apply innovative technologies to real-life challenges. Unlike major institutional grant bodies, S4S acts as a bridge between students with ideas and the resources needed to implement them. They focus on funding projects that have a clear sustainability impact (e.g., solar energy in developing regions, erosion control, coral restoration) and provide the initial capital to move these ideas from theory to practice. - Core Requirement: The project must be developed by students (ideally with a technical or engineering focus, given the TU Delft background).
- Project Nature: The idea must involve "innovative technology" aimed at solving a sustainability problem.
- Independence: They specifically support projects that otherwise struggle to find funding through traditional commercial or academic channels.
- Status: This is an "inward-looking" platform—if you have a project and need funding, you submit it to S4S for consideration, rather than waiting for an "open call."

Format:

Funding & Engagement

💰 Funding Type:
- Seed Capital: They provide small-scale funding raised through donations from other students and sponsors.
- Non-Profit: S4S is a transparent, volunteer-run foundation. 100% of donor money goes directly to projects.

📅 Engagement Mechanics:
- Submission: S4S has an open channel for students to "Bring in your own project."
- Application Process: If you have a project, you reach out to their board. They evaluate whether the project aligns with their goals (sustainability + innovative technology + student-led).
- No Deadlines: They operate on a rolling basis, meaning you can contact them at any time during the academic year.
