About the Call for Grant
The SSHRC Connection Grants program supports events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. These grants support workshops, colloquiums, conferences, forums, or other events that facilitate the flow and exchange of research knowledge among researchers and/or between researchers and informed publics. The program aims to foster the impact of research in the humanities and social sciences.
Eligibility
- International Participation: While the lead applicant must be affiliated with a Canadian postsecondary institution, researchers from Kazakhstan are eligible to participate as co-applicants or partners in international collaborations.
- Field Scope: Projects must fall within the mandate of SSHRC: the humanities and social sciences.
- Event Nature: The program supports knowledge exchange, not original research itself. This means funds are specifically for workshops, virtual symposia, or knowledge-sharing events.
- Partnership: Strong preference is given to projects that involve diverse partners from different sectors (academic, non-profit, community, or public).
