About the Call for Grant
The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) supports collaborative scientific projects that address global challenges. This call specifically facilitates partnerships between scientists from the ISTC member countries (including Kazakhstan) and international collaborators (EU, USA, Japan, etc.). The program is designed to sustain scientific expertise in the region by providing funding for research that promotes civil science, technological development, and the integration of regional scientists into global scientific networks.
Eligibility
- Core Requirement: Collaborative research involving at least one lead scientist from an ISTC member country (Kazakhstan) and international partners.
- Focus Areas: Biotechnology, Nuclear Safety, Environmental Protection, Cybersecurity, Energy, and Emerging Technologies.
- Applicant Profile: Experienced scientists, research teams, and institutional partners who have a demonstrated track record in the proposed field.
- Non-Proliferation Context: Priority is given to projects that redirect specialized expertise (especially in physics, biology, or chemistry) toward peaceful, sustainable, and socially beneficial scientific goals.

- Funding supports project-specific costs: specialized research equipment, salaries for research teams, laboratory expenses, and international collaboration activities.
- The grants are institutional—meaning they are managed by the research institution to ensure transparency and proper scientific accounting.

- Concept Paper Submission: Ongoing.
- Full Proposal Submission: June 20 – August 10, 2026.
