About the Call for Grant

Giving Joy is a non-profit organization that provides micro-grants to women entrepreneurs and changemakers worldwide. The program is designed to strengthen and inspire women's entrepreneurship by providing the "seed" capital needed to launch or scale initiatives that create meaningful social and economic impact. Unlike large research grants, this is a community-focused initiative supporting local solutions, small businesses, NGOs, or independent charity projects that improve the lives of women, girls, and families.

Eligibility

- Geographic Inclusivity: Open to women from any country worldwide, including Kazakhstan.
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Entity Status: You do not need to own an existing business. You can apply to start a new project, expand an existing business, or launch a non-profit/community activity.
- Mission Alignment: The proposed activity must focus on creating social or economic benefits for women, girls, or families.
- Legal Compliance: All proposed activities must be legal and conform to local regulations.

Funding Structure & Operational Scope

💰 Financial Details:
- Grant Amount: Awards typically range from $250 to $500 USD per recipient.
- Purpose: Funds must be used for tangible project implementation (materials, training, equipment for a small project). Funds do *not* cover personal marketing, large stock purchases, or general operational overhead.
- Implementation Window: Recipients have 6 months to carry out their proposed project after receiving the grant.

⏱️ Selection & Competitive Landscape:
- Program Intensity: Highly competitive, awarding 5–10 grants per cycle from thousands of applicants globally.
- Selection Process: Proposals are scored based on creativity, alignment with the mission of women's empowerment, clarity of fund usage, and measurable community impact.

📅 Application Cycles:
- Status: The program operates on two global cycles per year.
- Note for Databases: As cycles open periodically throughout the year, applicants should monitor the official website regularly.
