Networking Process & Funding Timeline

📈 Phase 1 – Joint Posterbook and Selection:
Over 230 collaborative research ideas and posters (including 91 from Kazakhstan) were curated and compiled into an international Posterbook to identify matching scientific interests.

💻 Phase 2 – Online Matchmaking Events (Completed):
In January 2026, a series of virtual matchmaking events brought together over 100 selected researchers from Germany, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan to initiate formal partnerships and pitch collaborative ideas.

✈️ Phase 3 – On-Site Delegation & Proposal Submission (Current Stage):
Based on the success of the matchmaking sessions, the next steps involve preparation for on-site delegation visits to Central Asia to consolidate partnerships.

💰 Funding Mechanics:
Once a solid partnership is established, researchers can directly apply for DFG grant funding via the "Initiation of International Cooperation" program or the "Individual Research Grants" scheme to support joint project execution, travel, and workshop expenses.
