We are pleased to announce that two teams from Alma Valley have been selected as finalists in the "Student Energy Challenge 2024". The finalists are Dronette and Aqua Save. This year, the Dronette team was awarded a prize for their innovative project, which utilises drones to deliver medical supplies and emergency assistance to remote regions of Kazakhstan.

Team members Diana Butakova, Kristina Mlikova, and Kamilya Sakuš displayed exemplary engineering thinking and social responsibility, which are essential qualities in today's business environment.

As a reward for their success, the winners received a grant of 2,350,000 KZT to conduct research in the fields of energy, ecology, and emissions reduction. This will make a significant contribution to their projects and their vision of sustainable development.

Furthermore, we would like to acknowledge our second team, Aqua Save, which also reached the final. Their project comprises a comprehensive system comprising a floating drone and shore-based cameras. The drone, equipped with a neural network and 3D cameras, scans water bodies, detects waste, and efficiently removes it, making it an invaluable tool for environmental protection.

The objective of the Student Energy Challenge is to stimulate innovation among young professionals and support the development of new ideas that contribute to sustainable development.

Since 2017, KBTU has played an active role in this competition, organised by the KAZENERGY Association with the support of Shell Kazakhstan. Each year, our teams demonstrate remarkable results, affirming the exceptional preparation and creativity of KBTU students.
