About the Call for Grant

The Zayed Sustainability Prize is an annual award established by the UAE leadership to honor the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It rewards small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), non-profit organizations (NPOs), and high schools that provide impactful, innovative, and inspiring sustainability solutions. This is a competition-based award, not a typical 'grant application' process. - Categories:
1. Health
2. Food
3. Energy
4. Water
5. Climate Action
6. Global High Schools (Separate category for student projects in educational institutions)
- Requirements: Projects must demonstrate measurable positive impact on people’s lives, technical innovation, and a clear vision for the future (scalability).
- Target: SMEs, NPOs, and High Schools. Individuals cannot apply; projects must be under a legal entity or an established educational institution.

Award & Funding Mechanics

💰 Award Amount:
- Total Fund: USD 3.6 million is awarded annually.
- Individual Prize: Winners in each category receive USD 600,000.
- High Schools: 6 winners (from 6 global regions) receive up to USD 150,000 each.

📅 2026/2027 Cycle (Active/Critical):
- Current Status: The application cycle for the 2027 cycle is currently OPEN.
- Deadline: June 23, 2026.

🔄 Selection Criteria:
1. Impact: How many people have directly benefited?
2. Innovation: Does the solution challenge the status quo?
3. Inspiration: Does the project have the potential to influence others and scale globally?
